How to Pack for 2 Years

I just wanted to start out by saying thank you to all who donated to the girls camp. Im really impressed with how quickly the money was raised. Thank you all so much who donated. You have really done a good job. Ill update you all when the camp is finished.

So Ive been noticing a lot of incoming volunteers mention packing. I remember back when I was thinking about packing for 2 years and what a daunting task that was. So heres a few hints...

Dont stress
You really arent packing for two years

People have lived in Benin for many many years without american goods, you can find alternatives to things here

Parents, Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Friends, will all send you things if you ask real nice

After 6 months chances are you can live without the thing you forgot

Solar powered high-tech gizmos while fun arent necessary

You will not want to wear the clothes you brought with you when you return home, you will have worn them out

Ladies cant stress this enough, Diva cup

Some things I personally really like having, IPod, wicking underwear, crystal deorderant, pictures from home, spice packets, nail clippers

Some things I didnt need but brought a clothesline, hiking boots, socks

I hope thats somewhat helpful any questions id be happy to answer!

Kitten Status: still fur balls thats grub around on the floor
