Cat sitting

My cat is about ready to pop shes so pregnant. Shes also eating a lot, although shes eating for possibly 4 or 5 its ok. Her belly is bigger than her head now. While I was gone I had some people who live close to me take care of her. I gave them way more money than was necessary but I wanted to stress to them that if they felt she needed more food to give her more food, there is no need to ration a pregnant cats food. I then explained the things she liked to eat, fish, bread, cheese, yam pilea, pate, oatmeal, and chicken. Then my friend gets this look on her face, is there a special kind of fish your cat likes? No she likes all fish, if you had fish for dinner and you cut off the head I bet shed eat it. Does your cat only eat bread from a special bread vendor? No she likes all kind of bread. You filter and boil your water do we have to do that for your cat? No shes african, she drinks all types of water. I would not waste filtered and boiled water on my cat. At this point I was almost cracking up, do they think I really spoil my cat THIS much? Your cat eats cheese, does it have to be prepared any certain way? Any way you give my cat food she will eat it if she doesnt eat it dont worry about she probably just got a lizard or something if shes hungry shell eat your food. My friend looked relieved at this point. I then took off for Cotonou. Everyother day my friends called me to give me status reports on my cat such as your cat eats a lot! and shes really fat what should we do if she has her kittens? and she caught a big lizard the other day. It was really cool to see that they enjoyed taking care of my cat. They were having fun doing it. I was hoping that my cat would become friends with family, but unfortunately this didnt happen. I thought maybe if they fed her shed warm up to them. But no, maybe with time. Moral of the story, my friends enjoyed spoiling my cat, the Beninese give their animals leftovers instead of buying special food for them, I will remember this in the future when I go on vacation that there are people who will take good care of my cat.

I am seriously glad that you found somebody reliable to take care of your cat during your absences. I am curious how old this person was......I am guessing on the younger side (maybe before they have had too much of a chance to become cool to the idea of a pet) but I could be way off on that.
At any rate, nice job finding someone who would spoil your cat. Both of you will appreciate it!!
