8am

Yes thats right, it is now 8am the sun is definately up and people should be out of bed by now going to work, if not already working. 8 months also signifies that I am 1/3rd done with my total service. Time flies when youre away from home! Today I actually reached another milestone, since arriving in Benin I have 50 books. The next post will be a book review, get excited.
Lately Ive been trying to get back into the swing of things. Since almost two months ago Ive been traveling so much that its been difficult to get back into my old projects. All the women who I began mud stove projects with now have mud stoves and are happily cooking on them so there was not really a whole lot happening on my primary project when I got back. But things have started back up its now crunch time when it comes to girls camp, I invited a tante, Beninese camp counselor, today and Im going to another village tomorow to look at a mud stove. Apparently they saw a mud stove somewhere in Bassila, and they tried to replicate it. But like all first attempts they got some things wrong, I havent seen it so I cant comment. But I will go there tomorow critique their work, Im already quite proud that they made one withut prompting or much leg work on my part, and potentially make another illustrating improvements in the orginal design. We will see how well this goes.
My kittens are getting bigger everyday they are almost ready to leave mom today I saw then eating some fish I had put down for Oose and another accidently tipped over Ooses water dish. This did not make for a happy kitten. One kitten adventure that happened last week began with a rain storm. It was raining really hard during the night, and my back area is pretty well protected and it never rains in my window I have a cat door in my back door so that I can shut it but Oose can still get out and go hunting at night. At 2am I was woken up to a kitten meowing over the noise of the rain on the tin roof, yes it was quite loud. I turn on my light I see 2 kittens looking worried and no Oose. Strange its raining where did she go. Then I see Oose, a little more than slightly damp dragging in a kitten who had escaped and looked like took a swim. I wouldnt say that the kitten looked like a drowned rat as a rat would have been too large, but maybe a drowned mouse. Oose ploped her kitten down and the kitten meowed a little at Oose. Oose looked at her cat entirely annoyed with ears back and all I could almost hear Oose say, that was really dumb.
A couple nights ago I also awoke to meowing this time I turned on my light to see all three kittens hanging off my mosquito net looking at me. They sure keep Oose busy!

I can't believe what a good mother Oose has become. What a good girl. I worked for a horse vet but her weakness is cats, kittens in particular. She was always getting orphan kittens and raising them. They were in the office after they didn't have to be fed by hand and they ALL went through a phase of climbing the curtains. But it passed. Guess it's a universal cat thing.
CAn't wait for your book reviews.
