Mud Stoves!!

Check it out mud stoves in action! The woman is currently making pate on her mud stove, a starchy substance that basically ends up feeling like lumpy bread dough, and kind of tasting like cardboard, but if you put sauce on it its not half bad. Particularly if its sauce with wagashi, the delicious Beninese cheese, I cant get enough of it.
Above is a picture of one my mud stove professors explaining how to mae a mud stove, without my help, there are now 5 in this persons concession one for each woman who cooks. After teaching the woman how to make a mud stove at her house, she went over to a neighbors house and did another workshop on how to make a mud stove and they made proabably the biggest mud stove Ive ever seen before, the pot that the stove fits around could be used as a tub for anyone who is not over the age of puberty. I didnt get a picture of it butI will go back when its dry to see get a picture.
I was really impressed with my mud stove professors, they explained really well, I think anyway, as they were speaking local language, how to make the mud stoves, they didnt need any help from me, the acting mud stove expert. Bravo ladies way to pass on the knowledge.

You are AWESOME!!! Way to teach them "how to fish"!!!
I think an underrated thing about the mud stoves is that they look pretty damn cool as well.
They're helpful, they save trees, they're sustainable and they're art. It doesn't get any better.
I think you need to pass out degrees for your Professors of Mud Stoves.
I am really, really happy for you!!
Best, Mark Loehrke (Carly's dad)
