Happy Valentines Day, I realize that Im 2 days late but forgive me as everytime Ive attempted to get online the last week I check my email then I go to my blog and the power cuts, So thats the reason why I havent been blogging as much as normal. I do realize I blog quite a bit, and this week there havent been a normal 2 blogs a week, deal with it. Oh something that nobody in the states is every allowed to complain about again, slow internet. I just tried to load a picture onto this blog, of me and brother in our meme tissue, aka matching outfits, but it wouldnt load, after waiting for 20 minutes hoping it would load. Maybe its a sign that I shouldnt embarass my brother by putting a picture of him in a cool looking boomba up online next to his matching sister. Im taking a poll, should you all see the picture of him in the boomba?? Just so that everyone knows Ive shown the picture to some of the people who live around here and they have all told me that he has a sick looking boomba, and many men here think they should go and get a copy of it. While Im waiting for the results Ill put up a picture of the family and their other presents, including a statue, apron, and pj.
Lately Ive been quite busy, Im working on mudstoves with two different groups of women, and Ive also started a secondary project working with linguists in town who are translating the local language Anii, which is currently only a spoken language into a written language. They have started writing books and are very busy, the first books that they want to publish are real basic easy stories about village life, they needed and illustrator. So I offered to do a few illustrations. I never thought I would actually use my art minor while here in Africa but it has seemed almost just as useful creating advertisements and helping the linguists as my environmental degree. Im hoping on being able to get a copy of the book that Im helping out with.

My immediate response on reading the title of your post was "YES" and now that I've read your post I still say "YES"!!! I don't know if that counts for two votes or one: your poll; you decide.
I wore my African tissue "chemise" that Carly sent me to the hospital on Saturday for rounds. My patients seemed bemused. I thought I looked pretty sweet.
I am hoping at some point when the internet Gods are smiling down upon you that you can post a photo of some of your artwork form the German's book. I'm sure your other blog fans would agree!!!
Stay happy and healthy and strong.
Best, Mark Loehrke (Carly's dad)
Yes, I do want to see a picture of your brother!
And I am so excited that you are doing some illustrations for the Anii books, that is sweet! Can't wait to see those as well.
