And the drama continues
So I get my gas can back to my house and guess what, i cant change the regulator aka gas line from the old tank to the new tank. how come you might ask, because i literally cannot remove it from the old tank. Before i arrived my family got my gas tank and stove all hooked up for me and such, i think that either my host brother or host father thought it was a really good idea to screw the gas line on REALLY FREAKING TIGHT so that there could be no gas leaks. thanks host family member who did this very thoughtful, but this wasnt necessary, the gas line is made so that this isnt problem. but now that its definatly on the tank, its a HUGE problem. ive asked many people to help me get the gas line off and nobody can get it to budge, not even a little. So now i have a new gas tank but i still cant cook. damn. if i can find a gas line in bassila i can get that but i still have the problem of a useless gas tank that nobody will accept for an exchange. anyway the whole system is going up to natitangou with me when i go again so that will hopefully be worked out. and if i cant find a new gas line, dont worry i cant still get water. i can buy water here but as thats expensive my lovely postmate is going to let me boil some water, thanks post mate. I would do the same for her if needed. So im eating all my meals out or having bread or bananas or whatever other fruit i can find. its more obnoxious than anything. I guess it wouldnt be so bad if i didnt know how to cook anything delious but im not half bad with the cooking so its just a big pain in the butt. But street food isnt expensive by any means so its totally possible to continue to follow my current budget. Also regardless of outcome im going to take a trip up to nati again anyway so its only this week. its also possible that i could find a gas line in bassila, but ive yet to see them. maybe on market day ill be able to find a gas line, but this is wednesday and already ill be going to up to nati in a few days so is it really worth it if i can perhaps just get the one that have off at the workstation? this will depend how i feel about street food on wednesday and how i feel about buying a gas line, not too sure how much they run. i will update with the status of the ability to cook later this week.

Sure hope you get this straightened out soon....I think it's important to be able to do your own cooking at home. Speaking of cooking; where are you going to spend Thanksgiving?? I hope you are able to get together with SOMEBODY and won't be too lonely. Make sure you spend it at a place where you can cook!!!
We'll be thinking about you...
Best, Mark Loehrke (Carly's dad)
